Midweek Farmers Market to Launch at Union Depot on November 7
SAINT PAUL, Minnesota – The St. Paul Farmers Market at Union Depot will open Wednesday, November 7 in the Head House at Union Depot. The market will be held every Wednesday through December 19 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., offering Lowertown workers and residents an easy way to pick up fresh, seasonal produce and other locally-made goods during their lunch hour. There will be approximately 15 vendors each week, with offerings including seasonal produce, baked goods, jams and jellies, honey, eggs, chocolates, sauces and other artisanal products. The St. Paul Farmers Market at Union Depot is one of the locations of the St. Paul Farmers Market which is based in Lowertown and has satellite markets throughout St. Paul and the surrounding suburbs. The market at Union Depot will be the only midweek indoor winter market in St. Paul. The market is operated by the St. Paul Growers’ Association, Inc. The St. Paul Farmers Market was founded more than 150 years ago and is unique in that the association allows only fresh, locally grown produce to be sold, directly from the grower to the consumer. That aspect has made the St. Paul Farmers Market one of the most respected in the Upper Midwest.
