MINNEAPOLIS (Aug. 18, 2015)—Minnesotans will have the chance to explore seven different countries all under one roof at the first-ever South American Trade Forum Cultural Exhibition on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at the Minneapolis Event Center.
“This event is a fun and entertaining way for Minnesotans to experience what South America has to offer,” Silvia Ontaneda, Consul General of Ecuador and President of the Minnesota Consular Corps, said. “We want to help connect Minnesota with South America and this is a great way to witness firsthand how South Americans in Minnesota celebrate their country’s culture.”
The exhibition will give patrons the opportunity to connect with South American culture through food, drink, arts and crafts demonstrations, and live entertainment. Guests can sample Colombian arepas, Chilean empanadas, Peruvian pisco sour, Argentinian mate, and more, while enjoying the sounds of Andean band Ecuador Manta, a dance performance of Argentine Tango, and others.
“This is a one of a kind opportunity for both Minnesotans, and the Latino population in Minnesota to experience the cultures of South America” Paula Kanne Board of Directors for the Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in Minnesota says. ”Where else can offer our guests food, wine, and spirits from Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, Venezuela, Argentina, Colombia, and Chile all in one room.”
Preceding the Cultural Exhibition is the South American Trade Forum. The Forum is aimed at businesses considering importing, exporting, or investing with the region and hearing from business and political leaders from Minnesota and South America.
The Cultural Exhibition will run 5:30-9 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the Minneapolis Event Center’s St. Anthony and Main location immediately following the Business Trade Forum. Admission to the event is $50, which covers the event, including sophisticated gastronomy, wine and spirits from the Region, as well as live performances of music, dance and art crafts.
