Winter Events

Snow and cold doesn't slow us down. There are still plenty of winter activities and events keeping us busy in Minneapolis.

With events like the U.S. Pond Hockey Championships, City of Lakes Loppet, great shows at the Minneapolis Convention Center and numerous outdoor activities, it’s no secret as to why we’ve ascended into “Winter Wonderland” status. Check out these cool (pun absolutely intended) events going on during the winter in Minneapolis. 

U.S. Bank Stadium’s Winter Warm-Up

November 27th, 2019 - February 10th, 2020
U.S. Bank Stadium

Inline Skating and Indoor Running returns this season for U.S. Bank Stadium’s Winter Warm-Up, a series of twelve recreational fitness nights at U.S. Bank Stadium. These public events are open to all ages and will take place on the stadium’s main and upper concourses! Tickets on sale November 20th.

Northeast Winter Market

Support local food vendors and artisans throughout the winter months! The market will feature music on vinyl by The Ring Toss Twins, prepared foods, local beer and Bloody Mary bar, monthly kids activities and a variety of local vendors.

The Great Northern is here to showcase The North at its wintry best. 10 days of events and programming across Minneapolis and Saint Paul. A new, annual tradition that promotes year-round outdoor activity and provides fun and accessible programming for locals and visitors of all ages. Have fun at the City of Lakes Loppet Ski Festival, the 130-year-old Saint Paul Winter Carnival, and the U.S. Pond Hockey Championships among other major events!

Have a ball at this Great Northern event! Through city-wide special events, fun activities and more, the Saint Paul Festival and Heritage Foundation celebrates winter like only Minnesotans can! Most events are FREE, open to the public, and will take place in downtown Saint Paul.

Discover Dinkytown: Winter Wander

This event will bring together University students, other community members and businesses in a novel community building event celebrating and supporting Dinkytown! Help support businesses, build community relationships, and generate positive energy around the area. Event goers will be able to sample area businesses, enjoy local performers, engage in fun activities, register to win prizes, and connect with others!

Luminary Loppet: A Celebration of Winter in Minnesota
