Winter Events

Snow and cold doesn't slow us down. There are still plenty of winter activities and events keeping us busy in Minneapolis.

Did you know we’re one of 2018's Best Winter Holiday Destinations? With events like the U.S. Pond Hockey Championships, City of Lakes Loppet, great shows at the Minneapolis Convention Center and numerous outdoor activities, it’s no secret as to why we’ve ascended into “Winter Wonderland” status. Egypt’s Sunken Cities

More than 1200 years ago, two ancient cities were lost to natural disasters and the rising tides of the Mediterranean Sea. Two decades ago, underwater archaeologist Franck Goddio and his team discovered those cities, revealing monumental statues, religious images carved in stone, exquisite jewelry, and delicate ceramics—and a greater understanding of life during the age of the pharaohs. Skate the Star at Mall of America

The Mall of America is bringing to life a magical experience for shoppers and visitors this holiday season. Bring your own skates or rent a pair for just $5, and skate your way along the mall's new, custom-built ice rink at the North entrance. Free and open to the public during select mall hours, 100% of rental skate proceeds go directly to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities.

*All skaters must complete waivers before skating. Minors under the age of 18 must have waiver signed by a parent or guardian
