There’s nothing better than sipping a cold craft beer, enjoying some amazing food and relishing in the beauty of springtime. Best brew food in Minneapolis
Known as a Minnesota staple for their beer, Surly is making a name for themselves in the food scene. Two separate restaurants, both with fantastic menus, are finding their way to the top of many acclaimed “Best Of” lists. Surly’s Brewers Table, located above the beer hall, was named one of the 10 Best New Restaurants in the country by Food & Wine. The Brewer’s Table offers a sophisticated feel with a more refined menu. Chef Jorge Guzman has been in the industry for 20 years, making his way up from Redstone to Solera and now Surly. With four courses to choose from and beer suggestions for each, Guzman not only provides a fantastic meal, but a true dining experience.
They also have a full restaurant in their beer hall, serving a variety of snacks to share as well as entrees in a more casual setting. Their BBQ is killer and their burger does not disappoint. For something lighter but still large on flavor, try the farro salad or roasted brussels sprouts. Day Block is one of the few breweries in the downtown metro offering food, beer and a full-service bar. You’ll find pizza, sandwiches, salads and a variety of bar snacks. But this isn’t your typical bar food. Almost all of their ingredients are locally produced and their food is made from scratch. You won’t just find your typical cheese or pepperoni pizza, they offer Bahn Mizza, Taco Truck and Leviathan among others. Their salads are fresh and full of flavor. You can even build your own if that’s more your style. If you’re looking for something different and unique, try their bacon and pickle flights. Urban Growler is one of the only female owned breweries in the metro area. They offer a variety of snacks, entrees, burgers, soups and salads. They use local ingredients and everything is prepared fresh. Gluten free or vegan? Just let your server know! They’re willing to meet your dietary needs as best they can. Also make sure to ask about their specials. Each month they have a new lunch, dinner and dessert special. If you’re stopping by on a Friday, don’t pass up their fish fry. Calling all picky eaters, wine drinkers and dinner spot decision makers! Town Hall Brewery is your new Friday night destination! With their extensive menu and wide variety of options, Town Hall Brewery has something for everyone. Choose from burgers, brats, sandwiches, pasta and more. They even offer cocktails and wine. While Northbound Smokehouse is known for their amazing protein-packed offerings such as brisket, fish fry, burgers, wings and their amazing house-smoked fish platter, they have a number of delicious vegetarian options as well. Try their wild rice burger, beet and walnut salad or chipotle hummus. Hungry but not quite sure what you’re in the mood for? Head to Rock Bottom Brewery! With a large menu and a variety of snacks and entrees, Rock Bottom will always hit the spot. Choose from tacos, burgers, salads, sandwiches, pizza, steak, seafood, and the list goes on! Share some appetizers, grab a burger or enjoy a three course meal. If you need a beer pairing, just ask! Their beers aren’t too heavy or filling and they work to complement the flavors in their dishes.
