The 2022 season opens Oct. 7-10 in Minneapolis, Minn., at the October North American Cup. Division I and parafencing athletes will be in action in Minneapolis with the Division I event serving as a domestic qualifier for the 2023 Senior World Championship Team. Cadet fencers will also be competing. Points will be on the line in Cadet for qualification to the 2022 Junior Olympics and the 2023 Junior and Cadet World Championships.


Masks or cloth face coverings are optional for visitors to the Minneapolis Convention Center. At the October North American Cup, everyone in attendance ages 12 and older – including coaches, athletes, spectators and staff – must provide proof of vaccination. Everyone in attendance between the ages of 3 and 11 – including spectators – must provide proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test result from within 72 hours of arrival to the venue. When spectators arrive, they will be asked to show their proof of vaccination or negative test result at the registration desk. They will be given a wristband that grants access to the venue. Accessibility at the Minneapolis Convention Center
The MCC is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible experience for all visitors. Our building is designed to support guests with a wide range of accessibility needs, including mobility, vision, hearing, and sensory considerations. The facility includes curbside drop-off locations along 2nd Ave., automatic entrances and parking ramp doors, power-assist doors, accessible elevators and restrooms, and wheelchair seating in event spaces. Additional accessibility features include service animal accommodations, braille and high-contrast signage, assistive technology access, mobility equipment rentals, lactation lounges, and tools such as the Aira visual interpreting service for guests who are blind or low-vision.
