#17 Grand Old Day
#17 of 52 Must See Things in Minneapolis
Grand Old Day is the largest one-day festival in the Midwest occurring every year in June along Grand Avenue in St. Paul. A local tradition, Grand Old Day is all about basking in the sun, enjoying live music and walking down Grand Avenue for local eats, unique goods and special activities. Grand Old Day is the perfect summer festival for anyone! With four different districts and a line-up of food trucks and shops along the way, your yogi best friend, beer-loving husband, foodie sister and even your kids will all find something to love.
First, kick off your day with the Grand Old Day parade! Starting at 9:30am at Dale and Grand, it’s a great way to support local business and start your festival fun with a bang.
Next, head to the Entertainment District for live music across seven unique stages. Grab some fair food at one of the local food trucks and head to the Festival Gardens where you can sip on a beer and soak up the sun.
If you need an afternoon pick-me-up, head to the Sports and Wellness District where you can play games, partake in street yoga, or get your photo taken with a team mascot.
Celebrate local business at the It’s Local District. Sample local ice cream from Sweet Me Creamery or browse local art from Lowertown Pop.
If you have your kids with you, make sure to spend some time in the Family Fun District. Your kids will have a blast with the interactive games, horseback riding, inflatable bounce houses, music and of course, more food! A good night’s rest may just be in your future…
So, get your festival pants on and come celebrate summer at Grand Old Day! Find more general information and transportation options here.
