''Cinema'' - one-night-only concert with famous French singer Jeanne Cherhal!
On Monday, May 23, Alliance Française Mpls/St Paul is organizing a one-night-only concert with famous French singer Jeanne Cherhal for a performance called ''Cinéma'' at the Capri Theater, featuring famous theme songs and soundtracks from beloved films by artists ranging from Serge Gainsbourg and Jacques Demy to Pedro Almodóvar. Performing solo with a piano, Cherhal interprets songs that marked generations of moviegoers, and takes us on a nostalgic musical tour of France!
Minneapolis will be the first stop of the artist's American tour and the first occurrence of this particular show in the US!
This concert, which has been conceived by Cherhal in collaboration with Thierry Frémaux, director of the Cannes Film Festival, to celebrate some of the most iconic moments in French cinema, will be a poetic evocation of cinema from a bygone era, a playlist of celebrated songs composed by the likes of Serge Gainsbourg, Catherine Deneuve, Dalida, and so many more!
