Talk: A Generous Medium: Reflections on Photography at MoMA, Mia, and in the World
Join Sarah Meister, Executive Director of the Aperture Foundation, for an expansive discussion of photography’s past, present, and global future in celebration of Mia’s exhibition, “A Generous Outlook: Gifts from the Collection of Fay Gallus and Richard Sweet.”
Prior to her tenure at Aperture, Meister was a curator in the Department of Photography at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, where she organized critically acclaimed exhibitions, publications, and public programs spanning the breadth of the medium.
Drawing upon the remarkable photographic objects in “A Generous Outlook” for inspiration, Meister will offer fresh insight into the importance of building public collections like Mia’s–now, and in the years to come.
