Winter Sports Itinerary

Sports fans know that the pre-game analysis, while sometimes a bit tongue-in-cheek, are a necessary part of the game day. That's why The Depot Minneapolis is a great place to start your sports experience. You can A) read the paper in their ridiculously-comfy beds B) relax in their lounge and watch your choice of five-person pre game shows or C) listen to the radio/a podcast as you skate around their indoor ice rink. Once you've ingested every possible fact about the upcoming game, it'll be time to head on out.

When it comes down to it, the only thing you need before a game are the three B’s: Burgers, Beverages and a Good Batmosphere (the B is silent). There are a couple great places to get this perfect Blend. Huberts in the Target Center features the mad scientists of burger creation, as their signature menu of burgers features perfected classics coupled with over-the-top delicious experiments.

Or, if you're looking for more of a pub feel, Kieran's Irish Pub has all the making of a tavern from across the pond. Plus, they're the home of the famous 2 Gingers Whiskey. You can't leave Minneapolis without having some of this.

Game Time

Being one of the only cities in the nation to boast five professional sports teams, you’re bound to find a game any day of the week. In the winter, you’ll be able to catch some Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Wild games.

Or, perhaps the college atmosphere is your thing. Head on down to Mariucci Arena to watch the powerhouse Gophers Hockey teams, or check out the Gophers Basketball teams at Williams Arena. For schedules, fun facts, tickets and more information on these teams, head on over to our Professional Sports page.

Post Game

After the game, just step out of the doors of whatever arena you’re in and experience the Minneapolis nightlife. To keep the energy going, head on over to the Shout House for some sing-out-loud antics in the midst of dueling pianos (they take requests!) because, be honest, yelling along to "WEEEEE ARE THE CHAAAAAMPIOOOONNNNSSSS" is quite possibly the only way to really end a night after a game.
