Each show is about one hour long, meaning that of the 162 shows played throughout the week, a very avid Fringer could see about 56. About 15,000 people attend the festival each year and the average Fringe-goer sees about three shows.
The Fringe is affordable. After buying your $4 Fringe attendee button, an adult show ticket is $12 (while a kid’s just $5). Get discounted multiple-play punch card. Think: you and your date see five plays for $90 (the average price of one ticket for a play in New York City? About 90 dollars). Visit the Fringe website for more ticket information.
The thing that’s great about the festival? You’ll leave knowing (1) Minneapolis neighborhoods and (2) fellow Fringe-goers. It’s nothing if not a social event: go out for a drink with fellow audience members, discuss what you’ve seen and what you are going to see, share your love of the theater.
