Doodlebugs

Tuesday, September 10, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., or 1-3 p.m., at Silverwood Park, St. Anthony. Drop off your kids for a whirlwind of fun. Each week’s activities are based on a different children’s book with a nature-inspired art theme. We will spend part of every class exploring what autumn brings to our life-filled wetlands, woods and prairies; then get messy as we cut, paste, paint or sculpt! Dress for the weather and bring a light snack, water bottle, and a bag to keep all your projects together. Cost is $10 and reservations are required. My Preschooler & Me: Book Worms Story Hour: Buzzin’ Bees

Tuesday, September 10, from 10-11 a.m., at Eastman Nature Center, in Elm Creek Park Reserve, Dayton. Discover nature on your bookshelf. This active hour starts with themed nature-learning stations, then picture book sharing and rhymes, songs or finger plays. My Preschooler & Me: Nature Explorers — Insects

Tuesday, September 10, from 10-11:30 a.m., at Kroening Interpretive Center, in North Mississippi Regional Park, Minneapolis. Introduce your little one to nature’s wonders! Each day we’ll explore a topic through hands-on play, stories, art and games. We head outside each class to see what we can discover. Cost is $5 and reservations are required. Preschool Drop Off: Lil’ Farmhands — Happy Lil’ Honeybees

Monday, September 9, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., at Gale Woods Farm, Minnetrista. Drop off your child for fun and learning on the farm! Each day we’ll explore a new farm theme through stories, songs and more. They’ll help farmers with chores and make a farm-fresh snack of their own. My Preschooler & Me: Farm Beginnings — Happy Lil’ Honeybees

Monday, September 9, from 9:30-11 a.m., at Gale Woods Farm, Minnetrista. Come explore the farm and learn more with your child through hands-on activities. Take a hike on your own to see the wonders of the farm. This is an adult/child class. Families are welcome. Adults must accompany children and pay the program fee. Each theme will bring a new adventure. This is an adult/child class. Maximum of three children per adult. Cost is $6 and reservations are required by the Thursday prior to the event. Monday, September 9, from 1-3 p.m., at Lowry Nature Center, in Carver Park Reserve, Victoria. Drop off your preschooler to discover nature in the fall. They will explore the natural world through hands-on learning, stories, songs, art, live animals, and puppet shows. Wednesday, September 11, from 1-3 p.m., at French Regional Park, Plymouth. Allow your children to discover all the fun they can have outdoors by learning a new skill each month. Each program includes a theme-related story and time to experience the featured recreational activity. Take-home letters provide leading questions to help your child share all they have learned. Tuesday, September 10, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., or 1-3 p.m., at Richardson Nature Center, in Hyland Lake Park Reserve, Bloomington. Drop off your kids and investigate fall changes in Hyland Lake Park Reserve. We will end the day by making a craft and having a snack brought from home. Reservations are required by calling 763-559-6700. The morning session will be taught in English with an introduction to the Spanish language. The afternoon session is English only. Wednesday, September 11, from 10-11:30 a.m., at The Landing-Minnesota River Heritage Park, Shakopee. Discover the magic of our historic Eagle Creek village with your child. Play, sing, read stories and explore the outdoors as we investigate a new theme each month. Dress as a pioneer or come as you are, but remember to bring outdoor clothes! Thursday, September 12, from 10-11:30 a.m., at Richardson Nature Center, in Hyland Lake Park Reserve, Bloomington. Explore indoor activity stations to discover the life cycle of insects and how they live. Hike the prairie and go on a bug hunt with a net and jar to catch these incredible insects.
